Most people have heard of Reiki - a Universal energy - that is used for healing.  It is a powerful force that is thought to be what Jesus utilized in His healings.  We are honored and awed by this idea that we should be allowed to also use this wonderful energy.  Then we begin to understand that the use of this energy was and is a right given to us for use on this plane of existence.  Thoughts of saving Mankind and the World are a natural process as we begin to use this energy "for the highest good of all". 

    We go through many life changes on this chosen path; not all of these changes are pleasant.  Lessons must be learned, the old patterns of thought evaluated, and adjustments made.  At some point in our Reiki endeavors, we begin to lose faith as our ideas of healing don't appear to be working fast enough.  We may even wander in our disparagement or look for other tools to make our efforts more potent.  All this we go through in the name of Healing for the Highest Good of All.

    Have we forgotten that we are part of the "All"?  We want to so much to heal the world and the people in it that we forget about ourselves.  We fool ourselves into believing that we have worked out our own issues.  We busy ourselves with so many other things that we have no time to evaluate our own progress.  Boastfulness and/or arrogance are not signs of proficiency either.  These are ego-based responses to our own insecurities.  A quiet and meditative knowing, a true heart-felt belief that this Reiki energy can work through us - that is what is necessary.

    When we remember to work on ourselves on a regular basis, then we are more able to utilize this given energy efficiently.   As we clear our own blocks, we become more effective at helping others with their blocks.  We are all in need of continued healing in these times on this plane of existence, so let's make the best of what we are given.
