Dr. Ernest Sekunna began frequenting metaphysical and psychic development circles in the village of Cassadaga, Florida during the mid-1960s, often with his young son Matthew tagging along. By 1970, he and a small group of like-minded sensitives began operating the Universal Centre of Cassadaga and the Universal Church of Spiritual Sciences. In this small building next to the site of the old Cassadaga Men’s Club meeting house, whose steps and foundation wall may still be seen around our picnic area, Dr. Sekunna and his friends dedicated themselves to the exploration of many of the psychic sciences.

In 1974 Dr. Ernest M. Sekunna founded the Universal Centre of Cassadaga, and originated the Universal Church of Spiritual Sciences with a small band of other Sensitives. ·He realized an organization did not exist that would explore the various truths that all of us encounter as we each search for our own truth.
